Testimonials
Many of our members are kind enough to write to us to express their appreciation for the services we have provided. Below is a selection of these testimonials:
- "I am just writing to say thank you for the brilliant CV Workshop that I attended recently. I had been sending my original CV out in response to at least four or five job advertisements each day but had not had any luck. After attending the workshop I started from scratch and produced a new CV which was then checked by one of your advisers. I sent it out in response to three job vacancies and was invited to interview for ALL THREE!! I now have a new full time job which I start on Monday and as a result I have actually only been unemployed for one month. I honestly thought that it was going to be a long term situation and was demoralised by the lack of response to my original CV. I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful service that you offer, and for the lovely inviting atmosphere at your premises. Please keep up the good work and in the nicest possible way I hope that I don't have to visit you again "
- "As you know, my registration with you ended on 22nd September. The last time I was in the Support Centre I completed a feedback form, indicating I was generally pleased with the type of support I received in the past 6 months. In particular I felt some of the advice I was given was very helpful, and set me onto the right course, in terms of laying out my CV and finding a new job. I am delighted to be able to report that this advice, combined with my determination and experience, has resulted in me accepting the offer of a new permanent position as a Senior Consultant at a management and technology consultancy firm, and I start there tomorrow.
So thank you for your assistance, and please pass on my thanks to the two advisors who helped me."
- "Please extend my thanks to everyone at WJSC for helping me find work. I was struggling to get anywhere on my own and felt really isolated, but once I had been put in touch with you, had my CV reviewed and my job search techniques improved, I quickly started getting results, and am now three weeks into a job I absolutely love. During an extremely difficult time in my life, you were able to give me the hope and techniques I needed in a professional and friendly way. Just having somewhere to go every day was invaluable in keeping my motivation up. I had absolutely no idea you were there, and it was only four weeks into being signed on at the job centre in Bracknell that someone gave me a leaflet, almost as an afterthought. You aren’t even mentioned on the Wokingham Borough Council website (at least, I never saw anything). I think it is a tragedy for people in a similar situation that you aren’t better known, because the service you provide is excellent. I wish you all the best for the future. You are a fantastic resource and I wish more people knew about it. Thanks again for all your help."
- " I would like to say a million of big thanks for all of your support. I finally got a new job in London. My first year job search journey was very emotional, but I learnt a lot through the experience. I think your service is the best quality in the area and I definitely recommend WJSC to my friends in future. You are all very cheerful and I feel your genuine welcome all the time. Job search related places are generally depressed and they make me so uncomfortable. But WJSC is a totally different place from others. We are facing tough economy and I hope WBC will not cut your funding. I am lucky to meet all of you.
- "I am just writing to say thank you very much for all the wonderful work you do at Wokingham Job Centre. I have now secured myself a position and although I wasn't unemployed for a particularly long time, the feeling of vulnerability was something I hadn't quite expected. It was very comforting to know there was a place you could go that was not only welcoming and helpful, but very professional in their approach. Knowing that many of you are volunteers was also very humbling. Thank god for people who are selfless!!
Keep up the good work and obviously I would always recommend you even though it's not necessarily in particularly good circumstances"
- "I am pleased to say I have now found employment. Although this did not come via your service, I'd like to thank you very much for the advice and guidance I received at the Oakwood Centre, Woodley."
- "Thanks very much for getting in touch. Glad to report that I am now in full time work and keeping busy. Thanks very much for all your help."
- "I want to say a very big thank you to everyone working at WJSC for all their help and support. It was such a help having somewhere to turn, when I suddenly found myself without a job. Each person I saw at WJSC was so encouraging and supportive, every person I had contact with gave me the boost I needed to find a new and even better job."
- "I would like to express my many thanks for the very helpful, friendly, and professional way your administration staff have provided their service. And a very big thank you to your Advisor who provided me with some excellent interview advice, which I am sure gave me confidence and technique."
- I would like to thank you very much for all the assistance you gave me whilst I was a client at the Support Centre....... the resources at your centre are marvellous and very helpful. Everyone was only too happy to help when asked."
- "I would like to thank everybody there for the excellent help I received whilst going through the difficult time of finding myself a job. I found your service to be fantastic, and it was going onto your online job search that I found my job. It was nice to get the encougagement and help. I would certainly recommend anyone looking for work to come to you."
- "I start work full time next month! Hurrah!! This opportunity came very quickly after joining yourselves and is due to the excellence of the centre in offering the facilities to job search. I have no doubt you have enabled me to get back on track and this centre is crucial to all job seekers whose funds have run low in their efforts to find work."
